The Hideout is a small improv theatre on Congress Avenue, close to the Paramount and the rest of Downtown's old entertainment strip. Shows lean local and playful rather than polished for tourists, which is part of the appeal: it is a good way to see Austin's comedy scene from a room that still feels close to its performers.
The schedule changes often, with improv, sketch comedy, classes, and occasional experimental shows. It works best as an easy evening add-on before or after dinner downtown.
