BYU Museum of Art

The Brigham Young University Museum of Art is consistently ranked among the best art museums in Utah and the Mountain West — and it is free, which makes it an easy addition to any visit to Provo. The permanent collection runs to over 17,000 objects, with strength in 19th-century American art, European old masters, and Asian works. Temporary exhibitions are well-selected and often include significant travelling shows that might otherwise only appear in larger cities.

The museum building itself is architecturally interesting — a large purpose-built structure on the BYU campus that handles natural light well. Open Monday through Saturday; closed Sundays in keeping with university policy.
