Provo's appeal divides between the city itself — the BYU campus, the walkable downtown, a few quirky cultural draws — and the mountains directly to its east. Most visitors come for the outdoor access: Provo Canyon, Bridal Veil Falls, the hike up Mount Timpanogos, and in winter, Sundance Mountain Resort. The city is also cheaper than Park City as a base for Utah mountain recreation.
