Utah Lake State Park

Utah Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi entirely within the United States — a broad, shallow body of water on Provo's western edge that is surprisingly overlooked given its size. The state park on the eastern shore has boat ramps, a marina, and a beach, making it a popular summer destination for swimming, fishing, and water sports.

The lake is known for its walleye, white bass, and channel catfish fishery, and during winter the mudflats attract significant bird populations including bald eagles, white pelicans, and great blue herons. The views back toward the Wasatch from the lake's western shore are striking on clear days.
