Molly Stark State Park

A modest 148-acre park east of Wilmington with a campground, picnic area, and the short but rewarding climb up Mount Olga to a fire tower with panoramic views of the Deerfield Valley, Mount Snow, and on clear days as far as Mount Greylock in Massachusetts.

The Mount Olga loop trail is about a mile and a half, suitable for families. Camping is first-come, first-served outside peak weekends.

A story
The park and its access road, the Molly Stark Trail (Vermont Route 9), are named for the wife of General John Stark, who led New Hampshire militia to victory at the 1777 Battle of Bennington — turning the tide against General Burgoyne's invasion from Canada.
