Wilmington Village Historic District

The compact village centre — about three blocks of Main Street and the side streets either side — preserves a near-complete 19th- and early 20th-century streetscape, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The most prominent buildings are the Italianate Crafts Inn (1902), the brick Childs Tavern, and the white-spired Wilmington Memorial Hall.

The general store at the centre is the kind of place Vermont does well: maple syrup, cheddar, locally roasted coffee, snowshoes for rent. Park the car and walk the village in about half an hour.
