A small, slightly dusty but genuinely interesting museum covering American military history from the Revolution to the present. The collection runs to about 60,000 objects, including a wing from a captured German Junkers Ju 388 night fighter, a piece of Berlin Wall complete with original graffiti, a Civil War Gatling gun, and a Soviet-made anti-aircraft gun captured in Grenada.
It is the kind of place where a couple of hours pass faster than you expected and you come out knowing a lot more about, for instance, why the United States Army shifted its main port of embarkation from New York to Newport News during the First World War. Free parking, low admission.
