The Brass Parrot at the Buccaneer

The Brass Parrot is the main dining room at the Buccaneer, a long-established resort hotel on a former sugar plantation on the east end of the island. The setting is exceptional — a hilltop terrace looking south over the sea, with the old plantation buildings converted into resort cottages below. The cooking is upscale Caribbean with a strong emphasis on local seafood: wahoo, mahi-mahi, lobster when in season, and an extensive list of local rum cocktails.

It's not cheap, and the vibe is firmly resort formal, but the kitchen generally delivers on its promises and the view at sunset is genuinely spectacular. Non-hotel guests are welcome at the restaurant with advance reservations. If you're looking for a special occasion dinner with atmosphere, this is the most consistently reliable option on the eastern end of the island.
