Cerro Arco rises straight out of the north-western edge of Mendoza, twenty minutes from the plaza, and it is the city's launch site for paragliders. Sky Tour fly tandem flights off it — about twenty-five minutes in the air, with the city spread out below and the Andes lined up to the west, landing in a field at the base of the hill.
No experience is needed: the pilot does the flying and the launching, and all you do is run when told. Pilots are licensed by the Federación Argentina de Vuelo Libre. Flights depend entirely on the wind, so keep the day flexible.
