Cycling between bodegas in Maipú is the cheapest good day out in Mendoza, and Wine and Ride's base sits at the very start of the wine and olive route, beside the Gutiérrez stop on the metro-tram from the city. You take the tram out, collect a bike, helmet, map and water bottle, and spend the day on flat back roads between tasting rooms.
The route is flat and mostly safe, but it is shared with traffic in places and the tastings add up; pace yourself and eat lunch at one of the bodega restaurants rather than skipping it. Wine and Ride also run bases in Chile, France and Switzerland, so this is a larger operation than the local bike shops, though the Maipú base is the original.
Book by WhatsApp for busy days; in the off-season you can usually just turn up.
