Mamuschka is the chocolate shop on every Bariloche tourist's list — a Mitre Street institution with red-and-white awnings, glass cases of pralines and bombons, and a small cafe at the back serving thick hot chocolate and chocolate cake. The chocolates are good rather than legendary; what makes the place is the atmosphere of the shop floor at 5pm in winter when half the city seems to be queueing for a hot drink.
The signature chocolate amargo (dark) and the chocolate al rhum are the buys to take home. The shop has expanded to a second Mitre location and another out on Bustillo.
