Bariloche is the natural base for trips along the Seven Lakes Road (Ruta de los Siete Lagos) north toward JunÃn de los Andes, or further south to Esquel and Los Alerces National Park. Most are too long for a true day trip but make excellent two-night extensions of a Bariloche stay.
For a day from Bariloche itself, the Cerro Tronador loop, the Cerro Catedral / Refugio Frey hike, the Isla Victoria and Arrayanes boat trip, and the Circuito Chico all qualify and are described under Things to Do.
