In addition to the stadium memorial, Santos has a second Pelé Museum housed in a restored 1865 mansion in the historic centre. The Casa do Café — the former house of a coffee broker — has been carefully restored and now displays photographs, films, trophies, and personal effects from Pelé's career.
The building itself is one of the best surviving examples of nineteenth-century coffee-merchant architecture in the city: high ceilings, painted plasterwork, and tiled floors imported from Portugal. Worth visiting as much for the building as for the contents.
