Bioparque Ukumarí is Pereira's major wildlife attraction, built as a more spacious successor to the old Matecaña zoo. The park is organised around broad habitats rather than rows of cages, with Andean species, big cats, birds, and family-friendly interpretation.
It is a strong choice if you are travelling with children or need a softer day between coffee farms, hot springs, and mountain trips. Go early for cooler weather and more active animals, and treat it as a half-day outing on the edge of the city rather than a quick downtown stop.
