The reef wall off the western side of the island drops sharply to over 30 metres, making El Cantil the most celebrated dive site in the San Andrés archipelago. Eagle rays, hawksbill turtles, and large grouper are regular sightings along the wall. The dive operators clustered around the north harbour run morning and afternoon boat dives; most offer PADI courses for beginners. Visibility regularly exceeds 30 metres.
