Safaga's appeal is almost entirely aquatic. The offshore reefs are the main event, with the windsurfing lagoon at Soma Bay a close second for those who prefer to stay on the surface. On land, the town itself is workmanlike rather than picturesque, but the waterfront is pleasant enough for an evening walk.
