Kumasi's attractions are rooted in Ashanti culture and history. The Manhyia Palace and its museums are the obvious starting point, but the city rewards wandering — the market alone could swallow an entire afternoon. Day trips to Bonwire and Lake Bosumtwi are both easy and worthwhile.
