Man's neighbourhood bars are unpretentious places: a few plastic chairs, a refrigerator with cold Flag or Bock beer, and sometimes a TV or sound system. Palm wine (bangui) — drawn fresh from the raffia palm — circulates in the smaller bars and is a more authentic local drink. Evenings are lively; music ranges from traditional Dan rhythms to Ivorian pop (Zouglou, Coupé-Décalé). These bars are the social hub of the town after dark and perfectly safe for visitors who approach with a relaxed attitude.
