Day trips

Biankouma — A Dan village 30km north of Man, accessible by paved road. Traditional Dan culture and architecture; a quieter, more rural counterpoint to Man itself. Worth combining with a visit to liana bridges in the area.

Gouessesso and Fakobly — Small rural villages set in the hills south and southwest of Man, reachable by piste. The landscape around these villages is among the most scenic in the region. A motorcycle or 4WD is advisable.

Liana bridge villages — Several communities within a day's reach of Man maintain traditional liana bridges. Hiring a guide in Man to take you to the best-preserved examples is the most reliable approach, as the locations are not always well-signposted.

Abidjan — The economic capital and base for most visitors to Ivory Coast is 8 to 10 hours away by road — too far for a day trip, but worth the journey if you are moving on from Man towards the coast.
