The Sea Cliff Hotel sits at the very northern tip of the Msasani Peninsula on a low coral cliff, and its waterfront terrace, the Karambezi, is one of the best places to spend a long lunch in the city. The menu is wide but the strong suggestion is the daily catch — kingfish, dorado, octopus — grilled simply with garlic and lime, served on the terrace fifteen metres above the surf.
The hotel charges no admission and the terrace is open to walk-ins. Sundays the place fills with families on the buffet brunch; weekdays it is quieter and you can usually find a table at the edge. Sunset cocktails before dinner are an established tradition.
