Former Residence of Qiu Jun

Restored home connected with Ming scholar Qiu Jun in old Haikou.

The Former Residence of Qiu Jun preserves a link with one of Hainan’s best-known Ming-dynasty scholars and officials. It is a small historic-house stop rather than a major museum, but it adds human scale to Haikou’s older streets and temple-heavy sightseeing.

Visit if you are already exploring the old city or interested in Hainanese history. The architecture is restrained, and the details matter more than the spectacle: courtyards, plaques, family memory, and the way a local scholar became part of the imperial bureaucracy.
