Xitian Temple is a modest Haikou temple, best appreciated while wandering the older streets rather than as a major destination on its own. It offers a quieter religious counterpoint to the city's larger official sights and the commercial bustle around the old arcaded streets.
Stop in if you are nearby, especially if you are tracing Haikou's older neighbourhoods on foot. The appeal is in the incense, small-scale architecture, and local worshippers, not in spectacle. Give it ten or fifteen minutes and keep moving.
