West Island is one of Sanyas more accessible offshore escapes, reached by boat from the coast west of the city. Visitors come for swimming, reef views, sea activities, and the slower lanes of the old fishing village behind the beach zone.
It is still a developed attraction, so do not expect solitude, but it gives a fuller day out than another resort beach. Clear weather matters: the water, views, and boat ride are the whole point.
