An active Buddhist monastery in the city's northwest, named for the two jade Buddha statues a monk brought back from Burma in 1882. The seated white-jade Sakyamuni in the upstairs hall is a 1.9-metre, gem-encrusted piece carved from a single block; a smaller reclining Buddha sits in a separate hall. Quiet courtyards, working monks, and a vegetarian restaurant on site that is genuinely good.
