Indira Gandhi Zoological Park

The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park spreads across 625 acres in the Eastern Ghats, backed on three sides by forested hillsides and facing the Bay of Bengal on the fourth. It is one of the larger zoos in India and holds around 80 species including tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and a notable collection of birds.

The surrounding Kambalakonda Reserve Forest is accessible from the zoo's edge and offers walking trails through scrub forest — a pleasant escape from the city if you want greenery without the full zoo experience. The combination of zoo and adjacent forest makes for a decent half-day excursion from the beach area.
