The TU-142 Aircraft Museum is built around a retired Indian Navy Tupolev maritime patrol aircraft, displayed near the beach road in Visakhapatnam. The aircraft's size is the immediate draw: it looks more like a piece of Cold War infrastructure than a conventional museum object.
Inside and around it, exhibits explain the aircraft's naval role and the technology that supported long-range maritime surveillance. It pairs naturally with the nearby submarine museum and beach promenade, making this stretch of Visakhapatnam one of India's more unusual military-history walks.
