Das is the place to come for khaman — Gujarat's steamed chickpea-flour cake, served warm with sev, fried green chillies, and chutney. The shop has been making khaman since the 1980s and is busiest in the late afternoon when office workers stop on the way home. The original Khanpur outlet is the institution; expansion branches have opened in Vastrapur and Navrangpura. Eat in or take away; expect a queue.
