Khan Sarovar

A large rectangular medieval tank on the southern edge of the old town, Khan Sarovar was built by Khan-i-Azam Mirza Aziz Koka, the Mughal governor of Gujarat, in the late 16th century. The stone embankments are stepped and once supported pavilions at the corners; the central island held a small chhatri. It is far less dramatic than Rani ki Vav but it is a pleasant place for a walk in the evening when local families come out, and the masonry is in better shape than the Sahasralinga Tank's.

Most of the year the tank holds water and is used for the immersion of idols during festivals. It is unattended and free to visit at any time.
