Bhagamandala is the small temple town at the confluence of the Kaveri, the Kannike, and the mythical underground Sujyoti — a triveni sangam considered second in sanctity only to Prayag. The Bhagandeshwara Temple here is built in classical Kerala style with sloping copper roofs and concentric prakaras, unusual in this part of Karnataka.
The town is on the road up to Talakaveri and most visitors combine the two. There is a small bazaar around the temple, a few simple eateries serving rice meals, and a sense of being well off the main tourist circuit.
