Tadiandamol Peak

Coorg's highest peak at 1,748 metres, a solid half-day trek through shola forest.

Tadiandamol is the highest peak in the Coorg district, rising to 1,748 metres above sea level. The trek to the summit starts from Nalknad Palace near Kakkabe, takes around three to four hours each way, and climbs through a mosaic of shola forest, open grassland, and the occasional cardamom plot.

You need a guide and the views from the top, on a clear morning, run all the way to the Arabian Sea on a really exceptional day. The trail is muddy and leech-infested through the monsoon — best months are October to February. Start early; afternoon mist closes the summit by lunchtime.
