Jayalakshmi Vilas is a palace on the University of Mysore campus, built for Princess Jayalakshmi of the Wodeyar family. Its halls, carved wooden pillars, and large ceremonial spaces still show the scale of Mysore's royal architecture.
The building now houses a museum focused on local folk and performing arts, craft tools, household objects, and archaeological finds. It is a quieter counterpoint to Mysore Palace, with a more intimate look at regional culture.
