Melody World Wax Museum is one of Mysore's odder small museums, built around wax figures, musical instruments, and tableaux linked to Indian and world music traditions. It is not as essential as the palace or zoo, but it adds a playful indoor stop to the Chamundi Hill side of town.
The appeal is in the collection's enthusiasm and variety rather than polish. Allow a short visit, and treat it as a light detour if you are travelling with children or want something different after the city's heavier royal sights.
