Munnar is Kerala's most popular hill station, and the landscape is the main attraction — rolling hills of tea plantation at high altitude, cool air, and a green that is almost overwhelming after the heat of the coast. The main sights cluster around tea: the plantations themselves, the Tea Museum, and the extraordinary Kolukkumalai estate at 8,000 feet, the highest tea estate in the world. Eravikulam National Park is the other essential stop — the only place in India where you can reliably see the Nilgiri tahr in the wild.
