Varsoli, just north of Alibaug town, is one of the cleaner local beaches and is partly run by the Indian Navy — which keeps a small base on the headland. The southern half is open to the public; the northern half is closed.
A pleasant suru-pine grove runs along the back of the beach and the sand is soft. The naval presence keeps the place relatively orderly, with less vendor activity than Alibaug or Nagaon.
