Sri Devananda Gaudiya Math

The Nabadwip headquarters of the Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math, one of the more scholarly branches of modern Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Founded in 1949 by Bhakti Dayita Madhava Goswami, it occupies an elegant red-and-cream temple compound on the southern edge of town.

The morning mangala-arati at four-thirty is open to outsiders, as is the regular evening programme. The math also publishes substantial Sanskrit and Bengali commentary literature; the bookshop in the entrance has English translations.
