Bosscha Observatory sits in the hills of Lembang north of Bandung. Built in 1923 by the Dutch East Indies astronomical society, it remains one of Indonesia's most important observatories and is closely tied to the astronomy department of the Bandung Institute of Technology.
The main draw is the historic domed observatory and its old telescope setting. Visits usually need advance arrangement, so check current public-tour rules before making the trip.
