Getting Around

The city centre is walkable between Braga Street, the Gedung Sate, and the Geological Museum, but Bandung's sprawl makes a vehicle necessary for most excursions. Ojek (motorcycle taxi) drivers are everywhere and useful for short hops; Gojek and Grab both operate here and are the easiest way to get a quoted price before you board.

Angkot (shared minibuses) run fixed routes across the city and are inexpensive, but the system is confusing for newcomers. Taxis using meters are available but not always keen to use them — agree the price first or use a ride-hailing app.

For day trips to Tangkuban Perahu, Kawah Putih, and the surrounding highlands, renting a car with driver for the day (negotiable from around 500,000 Rp) is the most efficient option. The road system outside the city is not designed for cycling or walking between attractions.
