Getting There

From Jakarta: The Argo Parahyangan train is the best option — four departures daily from Gambir station, taking about three hours. The Whoosh high-speed rail line (opened 2023) cuts journey time to under an hour; it runs from Halim station in East Jakarta to Padalarang, with a connecting train to Bandung's Kejaksan station. Book train tickets through the KAI Access app or at the station.

By road, the Cipularang toll road connects Jakarta and Bandung in about two hours without traffic, but Jakarta traffic can add considerably to that. Buses run frequently from Kampung Rambutan and Lebak Bulus terminals in Jakarta.

By air: Husein Sastranegara Airport, 4km northwest of the city centre, handles flights from several Indonesian cities including Bali and Surabaya. The airport is small and connections are limited; flying into Jakarta and taking the train is often more convenient.
