Highland deer park and meadow in the Ciwidey valley

A protected highland meadow at 1,700 metres in the Ciwidey valley, used as a breeding ground for the timor deer (rusa timor). Visitors can walk up to a fenced enclosure and feed the deer pieces of carrot bought at the gate. The meadow itself is more interesting than the deer — wide rolling grassland with edelweiss in season, fringed by pine forest and frequently bathed in cool mist.

A pleasant lunchtime stop on the loop south from Bandung that takes in Kawah Putih and Situ Patenggang. There are simple food stalls near the entrance and a campsite on the grounds.
