Tajrish

Tajrish is the northern residential and commercial hub from which the mountain suburbs fan out — a lively square and bazaar at the intersection of the main northern routes. The Tajrish Bazaar is a proper working market (not a tourist bazaar), selling spices, dried fruit, vegetables, and household goods to the affluent northern districts. The Imamzadeh Saleh shrine on the edge of the bazaar is a significant Shia pilgrimage site and draws crowds, especially on Thursdays and religious occasions.

From Tajrish you can walk to Darband (20 minutes), take taxis to Darakeh, or connect to the Sa'dabad Palace complex. It is the main transit point for northern Tehran. The square itself, with its juice bars, ice cream shops, and the shuffle of the bazaar, is one of the more pleasant places to spend an hour in the city.
