Shamoun Al-Safa Church

Shamoun Al-Safa Church is one of Mosul's oldest churches, with origins traditionally dated to the 13th century. It is named for Shamoun Al-Safa, or Saint Peter, and was also associated with Saints Peter and Paul.

The church is part of the old city's deep Christian history, best understood alongside Mosul's other churches, mosques, shrines, and rebuilt heritage sites.
