Tel Akko is the mound of ancient Akko, used until the Hellenistic period before the city shifted toward the coast. Napoleon later used the hill as a lookout during his siege of Acre.
Today the site has walking trails and open views across the city and surrounding plain. It is a good contrast to the dense lanes and Crusader-era sights of old Acre.
