Miyajima History and Folklore Museum is a small local museum in a former merchant house near Itsukushima Shrine. Its collection covers island life, folk crafts, festival objects, and the history of Miyajima beyond the famous floating torii.
The building is part of the appeal: an early-19th-century residence with a traditional garden behind it. It is a good short stop if you are staying longer on the island and want something quieter than the shrine approach.
