Mt. Misen is the highest peak on Miyajima, with forest trails, temple sites, and sweeping views over the Seto Inland Sea. The full hike from the lower island takes about an hour or more depending on the route, while the ropeway shortens the climb for visitors who mainly want the view.
The final stretch from the ropeway still involves a real uphill walk, so allow time and wear decent shoes. On clear days, this is one of the best viewpoints in the Hiroshima area.
