Yaide Tenmangu Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deified scholar and poet associated with learning. Local tradition says he stopped here for eight days, giving the shrine its connection to students and scholarship.
It is a quiet stop near Tsuyama's older eastern streets.
