Tala Bay is a planned resort development on the southern Aqaba coast — fifteen kilometres south of the city centre — built around a marina and a long arc of cleaned and groomed beach. The beach is significantly better than anything closer to the city: wide, sandy, lined with palms, and with a clear stretch of water for swimming. Most of it is associated with the various hotels and beach clubs around the bay.
Day passes are available at the larger hotels (Mövenpick, Radisson, InterContinental) for non-residents — these give access to swimming pools, beach, and changing facilities for the day. The marina has several restaurants and a small selection of shops. Practical for a half-day's swimming and lunch; taxi from Aqaba about 15 minutes.
