Falafel Sahyoun has been frying chickpea balls for Beirutis since 1933 and is by general consensus the best falafel sandwich in town. The recipe — herb-flecked, deep-fried to order, packed into pita with pickled turnips, parsley and sesame sauce — has not changed.
There are two storefronts directly facing each other in Bashoura, run by feuding cousins. Pick either, you will not be disappointed. Cash only, cheap as it gets.
