Shopping

The Main Bazaar along the waterfront is the best place for handicrafts, antiques, and Sarawakian crafts: pua kumbu textiles, woodcarving, beadwork, and basketry from the region's various indigenous groups. Several shops here have been run by the same Chinese families for generations. The Satok weekend market is better for local produce and cheap goods. For air-conditioned malls, The Spring and Boulevard Shopping Complex are the largest and have supermarkets, chain restaurants, and mainstream retail.
