The lake is the centrepiece, and a full day by boat is the standard introduction. Most guesthouses arrange boats with a guide for around $6–8, visiting floating villages, workshops, and monasteries. Beyond the water, the hills above the valley offer walks to Pa-O villages and hilltop monasteries that few visitors bother with — and the town itself rewards an afternoon on a rented bicycle.
