Bangus Festival

The annual celebration of the milkfish, held over the second half of April and culminating in the Gilon-gilon parade on the 30th. Street dancing, fish-grilling contests, cooking demonstrations, the symbolic catch by the mayor, and the longest barbecue in the world — a kilometre-plus stretch of bangus grilling along the river that draws crowds from across northern Luzon.

If your trip is anywhere near April, time it to overlap with Bangus Festival. Accommodation books up early.
